Inaugural Knowledge Exchange for Slow Hope Webinar

The Knowledge Exchange for Slow Hope webinar series will open with a discussion centred on polycrisis. The session will explore the notion of polycrisis and critically consider its role in public discourse, politics, and culture.

Moderated by Jenny Wüstenberg, HERA/CHANSE Knowledge Exchange Facilitator, the inaugural webinar will bring together researchers working across different disciplines and perspectives on crisis.

  • Jenny Butler, CHRYSES, is a lecturer in the Study of Religions Department at University College Cork. Among her primary research interests are New Religious Movements, Folk/Popular Religion, Mythology, Sacred Geography/Legends & Landscapes, Film and Screen Media and Religion (e.g., Horror, Magic, Occult), and Religion and Nationalism / National Identities.
  • Artemis Skarlatidou, CHRYSES, is a lecturer in Citizen Science in the Department of Geography at University College London. Her research focuses on risk communication, public engagement and understanding, User Experience aspects of citizen science applications and geospatial technologies, and trust-building in participatory approaches.
  • Daniel Knight, TiCToC, is Professor of Philosophical Anthropology in the Department of Social Anthropology at the University of St Andrews. He is a philosophical, historical, and economic anthropologist whose work is centred on crises, temporality, austerity, and renewable energy.
  • Marko Scholze is a member of the Programme Point Sud Home – Point Sud at Goethe University Frankfurt and has recently hosted a conference on “Sustainable Governance in Africa: The Usefulness of the Concept of Crisis”.
