Announcement: HERA Opportunity for Ukrainian Researchers

HERA will provide 10 bursaries to support Ukrainian researchers to attend the upcoming HERA conference including the Early Career Research event on 7 September and the Public Spaces: Humanities in Crisis/Crisis in Humanities conference on 8 – 9 September in Wroclaw, Poland.

On 7 September, successful applicants will participate in a day designed and organised to support Early Career Researchers. This day will provide an opportunity for researchers to come together and to engage in workshops designed to support career development.  Planned workshops include sessions on evaluation and future funding, publishing and creative writing. The additional days of the conference, 8  & 9 September, will center around the theme of the conference “Humanities in Crisis/Crisis in Humanities”. The successful researchers can participate in the programme throughout the conference engaging with speakers and researchers from across Europe. The HERA Conference team are offering the bursaries to cover costs of travel and accommodation up to the value of €600 per delegate to participate in the ECR day and HERA two-day conference.  In addition, all meals will be covered as part of these events.

Bursaries will be allocated on a lottery basis once applications have met the criteria to apply. Therefore, if you are interested in participating in the ECR day and HERA conference, we invite you to fill in the application form, by Monday 11th July 2022. Successful applicants will be informed by mid-July.

The selection criteria will be based on the following:

  • Researcher is Ukrainian
  • Researcher is a Humanities scholar
  • Researcher can speak English proficiently
