SCARCE TIMES: ALTERNATIVE FUTURES | SCIBE and The Architecture Foundation are calling for collaboration!
The Architecture Foundation and Scarcity and Creativity in the Built Environment (SCIBE) in London are looking to collaborate with strong groups of creative professionals capable of proposing innovative strategies and tools to address conditions of scarcity in the built environment. This call for collaboration is based on the understanding that architects and designers hold the capacity to intervene in existing social, cultural, political, economic and environmental systems in ways that may exceed the production of objects alone.
The Call is open to individuals and teams, and we welcome proposals from beyond the fields of architecture and design, in particular from those engaged with creative approaches to socio-economic scenarios. In order to be considered, participants are invited to register before 14 June 2012 and present their approaches to the issues raised in the briefing document during a networking event on 2 July 2012, as part of the London Festival of Architecture 2012. They will then develop the devices needed to achieve their vision for the future – starting now. Four winning teams will be selected during a second event on 23 July 2012. The selected teams will receive £4000 and will have the opportunity to both draw on and contribute to the SCIBE research project, including the chance to expose their work to wider audiences.
