Georg Kolmayr is a Vienna-based architect and researcher specialized in housing and urban development. After graduating from TU Graz in 1999 he worked for Coop Himmelb(l)au for several years as project architect. During these years he would be engaged in projects like the Gasometer in Vienna, the Musée des Confluences in Lyon and the Great Egyptian Museum Competition. In 2004 he established his own practice in Vienna working on a wide range of projects – from urban design studies and housing projects to exhibition design. He has also frequently been lecturing and teaching at the University of Applied Arts and at the TU Vienna, Department for Building Theory and Design and Department for Housing and Design.
