HERA received the news of the recent passing of a Postdoctoral Researcher Julia Patricia Carrillo Lerma from the HERA JRP Public Spaces project: Negotiating Diversity in Expanded European Public Spaces

Julia Patricia Carrillo Lerma, worked as a Research Fellow for the project PLURISPACE with the French based team from June 2019 to October 2020.
Born in Cali – Colombia – holding Colombian and Ecuadorian citizenship, she pursued her master and doctoral studies at the New School for Social research in New York and Sciences Po in Paris. Her thesis entitled ‘A Colombian ‘diaspora’ – living with conflict, constructing peace: rewriting memory. She has been associated to the Centre for International Studies of Sciences Po where she was also a Teaching Fellow for many years before she joined the team of PLURISPACE. Julia was also a consultant at UNESCO Headquarters, in Paris.
PLURISPACE owes her the website, the Data Management Plan required by Sciences Po, the organization of data and documents on Google Drive. Julia put a lot of work into the preparation of the empirical work in France, by selecting documents to analyze, a literature review and the list of voluntary associations to work with in the Paris and Lyon areas/ She organized the Kick off meeting and the round table meet held in Paris. The team, as well as our colleagues at Sciences Po, will miss her talent for communication, her initiatives, her enthusiasm, her cheerfulness.

On behalf of the team :
