HERA Covid-19 Statement

The HERA network is fully aware that the current situation regarding the COVID-19 pandemic is having a significant impact on the HERA research community. Our priority is the safety and wellbeing of all people involved in HERA projects in these challenging times. We are working to understand the impact this can have on our funded projects and activities and are seeking to facilitate appropriate measures that may prove necessary in the coming months.

We anticipate that the precise nature of these impacts may evolve over the coming weeks and months, and we note that projects may be unavoidably delayed as a result of practical measures taken to contain the virus.

For your information, this is our commitment to you:

  • We will continue to offer support for ongoing projects. As mentioned above, we note that projects may be unavoidably delayed as a result of practical measures taken to contain the virus.
  • We are closely monitoring the response from European Commission and await their official guidelines in relation to further steps, particularly related to project deadlines and extensions.
  • We will keep you updated with further procedures as we received them from EC.
  • We will also keep in close communication with funding agencies in regard to any Request for Changes from projects which may be required throughout this time.

Any further queries can be sent to our HERA Handling Agency at hera@research.ie.

Wishing all colleagues, their families and friends good health at this time.
